History:  Interest in Australian Football in Oman has grown out of the local Gaelic football club, Clann na hOman. In early 2007, Clann na hOman, along with a few Abu Dhabi players, entered a team in the inaugural Dubai 9s tournament. By late 2007, interest in the Australian game had further increased, and the Muscat Magpies were born. In December of 2007, the club hosted the Dubai Dingoes in Muscat, the first ever Australian football match on Omani soil. The match was labelled the O’Connor Cup, and Muscat were the upset winners. Muscat is a founding member of AFL Middle East and were Runners Up in the 2008-09 Season.

Outlook (2009):  Completing AFL Middle East 2009-10 commitments.
