History:  Football gained a toehold in Bahrain when Tim Barrett and Jim Carless formed the Bahrain Blues to compete in the Dubai 9s. Interest was so strong the club joined AFL Middle East for the 2009-10 season. Currently the club has about thirty players on their roster.

Outlook (2009):  They have secured a win in their inaugural season, which is always a positive and have a local on their list, which often proves elusive for Middle Eastern clubs. At this stage however, getting a team together for each of their matches remains their priority.
