Wow! I'm suprised that so many people think Ireland will win, I guess their squad does look impressive.

If Ireland play regular players from their AFL Competition, they won't win, but if they supplement this with their Gaelic players or players over here, they will be very hard to beat. Lets hope USA or SA have improved enough to challenge both NZ and PNG.

They've said who they are going to play - guys from ARFLI and guys based in Australia.  I'm not aware of any purely "Gaelic" players (except for the one on his way to Richmond).

Of course many players from ARFLI play both footy and Gaelic football, or possibly footy and Rugby, same as e.g. New Zealand.  And the same as NZ there will be players based in Australia.

So I reckon the only real difference in selection methodology between Ireland and say NZ is that Ireland has a few more based in Australia, including players with some AFL list experience.

Well the numbers for Ireland have stayed strong.  Looks like they will start IC11 overwhelming favourites.

Very hard to split them and PNG though.  I'm also wondering if all the Irish guys will be available for all games - imagine if they make the GF and Aisake and a couple of others have local club commitments.  I'm not sure, but this could be a possible scenario.

I think South Africa are a very big show of winning. They just seem to improve so much each time we see them. I think they would be a very popular winner with us Aussies too
