Early talk was that because Hunt has played some schoolboy footy he would be better suited than Folau. However, it was only a few games. Most of the success stories of transition from other sports has been taller players, who are competing against a much smaller pool of talent - there's 1000s of 6 footers trying to make the AFL, but not so many at 6'4". So Folau can be groomed as a key forward who maybe never has to have the same endurance or 360 degree awareness, but can Hunt get away with that?

Interesting to see video of Hunt at his first GCFC training. They say he needs to slim down (less muscle) and I wondered why as his upper body isn't that big - but his thighs/hamstrings are massive. They'll have to come down once he started more endurance work.

Also interesting that he seemed to have a preference to take marks on the chest or close to it, rather than extended hands. That's natural and something they'll be quickly changing. But overall he moved quite well and seems to be off to a good start.

So... do we add Greg Inglis to the list yet?

I can't quite see the benefit to the game as a whole in spending big promo dollars in pinching him. A bit of extra coverage in NSW and QLD (and annoy people there, for better or for worse), but not on the scale of the first two recruits. If some AFL players are supposedly so outraged by the money Folau and Hunt will be on to help start-up clubs in emerging markets, then how will they feel about subsidising a player in an existing market?
