I remember the PNG Under 17's playing SANFL under 17's (tho' not the scores") I worked at General Motors at the time and ran a Footy tipping comp in my workshop (similar to the football pools) and the match was included that week.
The Teal Cup effort in Tassie, I recall had a bit of a joke going around at the time ie. the PNG boys did quite well especially as half the guys were playing one handed, as they were hanging onto their testicles with the other hand to prevent them from dropping off because of the cold weather in Tassie.
Its a real pity that PNG's participation ceased after only the one time (I think) as the "powers of footy/VFL" at the time didn't consider it to be worth supporting as there was no benefit to be gained in/by Victoria.
