Courtesy of Phindi Khambule from AFL South Africa:

1. Saturday 2nd August - Jamestown - Peterborough to play their minor round match against Orroroo @ Orroroo. 40 minutes north of Jamestown. Lions to attend match and potentially be involved in the day eg. run water for junior & senior grades.

2. Sunday 3rd August - The Lions to play an internal trial following Jamestown A grade team recovery session. We would expect to get a good local crowd to watch this. Followoing the internal trial, local A grade coach Michael Redden to give a motivational talk to the team as a group. FYI, Mick played nearly 400 games of league football for North Adelaide in the SANFL. He led the ruck for 'the roosters' at a time when the SANFL was the number 1 competition in South Australia eg. prior to the Crows & Port entering the AFL. He Captained the state and has now gone on to become a very successful coach in country football, as well as having coaching experience at both Port and the Crows. To sum up, Mick is a legend of the game in South Australia and was inducted in to the SANFL Hall of Fame in 2005.

3. Wednesday 6th August - Travel back to Adelaide first thing eg. 7am. Lions to play an exhibition match against a local indigenous youth academy team. This match will be played @ Alberton oval (port power home ground/training facility). Following the match there may be an opportunity for the team to listen to some current and former AFL players.

Yep! got all that from Chris Stacey (Jamestown/Peterborough FC) on Monday. Thanks anyway Brett. I intend to drive over the ranges and watch the match on Sunday and meet the guys (get an interview) :-) and possibly do a story a bit later on about their visit to country SA
