The AFL appear to have axed their only (legal) NZ coverage outside of the trivial amount on Sky. Surely that can't be right? It seems odd to throw their weight behind the St Kilda game in Wellington, and to have all sorts of good publicity in NZ out of the recent Saints visit and Hawks signing, only to do this. It makes me wonder whether the Saints-Swans clash will be shown on NZ telly.

Incidentally, a member of the NZ Aussie Rules team was playing rugby sevens for NZ in Wellington today, and it was pointed out several times on the TV commentary where he developed his aerial skills.

There's been some unfortunate unintended outcomes in the past regarding TV and internet coverage, but yeah, with so much invested into NZ in the last year or so and to come in the next few years, surely there's an upside here we haven't heard about yet.  We'll let people know if we get word.
