Why no mention of Cameroonian Patrick Ngondo making it to VFL level yet a was mention of Ballard & Trigg? Especially disappointing that no mention was made of Ngondo when you consider that Ballard played one senior game for Port Melbourne and that was in the Foxtel Cup and Trigg could hardly get a game in the Port Melbourne reserves. Ndongo outperformed both of them. Your thoughts?

It's a big wide world of footy out there, we can't really be on top of absolutely every piece of info with an international angle.  I'm not familiar with Cameroonian Patrick Ngondo, so feel free to tell us more (I did a quick google and couldn't find anything).

But certainly in comparison with the two British players, that was considered a very good news story because here we had 2 players who started to learn the game overseas then came to Australia to pursue it further and made it to the VFL, even if they didn't kick on quite as well as they might have hoped.  We unashamedly favour stories of players doing well who learnt the game outside of Australia.  There are of course hundreds of players with a multicultural flavour (born overseas or parents born overseas) who have picked up the sport once in Australia and have done well but we can't follow them all.
