Looking back - a review of IC11 with Tony Woods

Tony Woods touched on the involvement of women in the next IC. For so long most people's involvement in Football can be trailled back to seeing AFL either live on on TV. The IC like second tier competitions are fighting for more recognition. IMO, women could be an important spearhead. If international womens teams came out and competed against state teams, in their respective states there could be reasonable interest generated. Certainly an Australia vs Ireland would be a competitive affair. Looking back - a review of IC11 with Tony Woods

I'd love to see a World team or the Irish Banshees play an Australian state, but the response is always the same- "we'd destroy them". They said exacly the same thing about the AMI team's opponents though and everyone knows what happened there... Personally, I think the Irish would be too much for Tassie or ACT- half the squad play in the SWAFL which is a much much higher standard. But they could definately be competitive against a SA or NT side. That would be a great game to see. |
