Howdy All,

A litle bit slow to get the new Ranks out today, attended a reunion yesterday, had a full house last night and subsequently destroyed a few brain cells.

WFN World Ranks at the conclusion of Game days four and five look like this:

  1. Australia
  2. Papua New Guinea  56.06   27
  3. New Zealand  53.85   31
  4. Ireland  51.78   35
  5. United States  46.95  33
  6. Nauru  46.55   17
  7. Great Britain  43.85   41
  8. South Africa  43.00   20
  9. Denmark  42.33   39
  10. Samoa  41.85   18
  11. Peace Team  37.87   9
  12. Germany  37.37   10
  13. Sweden  37.23   22
  14. Canada  37.14   33
  15. Japan  35.63   22
  16. China  32.09   9
  17. Finland  29.02   12
  18. India  26.94   9

USA's win and Nauru's loss has seen the USA climb above Nauru into 6th spot. Denmark's loss to Ireland  and South Africa' loss to the USA has seen both of these nations slip below Great Britain who now holds 7th place.

But the biggest mover is the Peace Team, their win over China has had them leap from 16th up to 11th although a bit of a gap still between them and 10th placed Samoa.

Provisional placings  are as follows:

  • Fiji  42.41   4
  • Croatia  40.61   4
  • Tonga  40.35   7
  • France 38.43   5
  • Iceland  35.64   4
  • Timor Leste  32.67   4
  • Spain  28.00  6  Dormant.

Might need some tweaking on the system again then, maybe it is the Two division system as suggested earlier that will artificially inflate those at the top of Div 2 and hurt those at the bottom of Div1.

I know the whole idea is that this is logically based mathematically but it may still not be perfected.

I can tell you now that Peace team is not better than Canada (close enough in a 30 minute game, but Canada would have run away with it over 4 quarters), Japan would beat them if they played as would Sweden.
