I was at the game and Edwards took an absolute screamer last night. It would easily be up there for Mark of the Year but I think he's ineligible because they only look at marks taken in the Home and Away season.

I wouldn't worry too much about Collingwood not being serious about next week either. Melbourne papers are reporting that the Magpies have already begun taunting Geelong.

I'm sure most regular Magpies fans will be there, but I just wondered whether the occasional fan, the kind that pushes big crowds out to being massive crowds, wouldn't fancy their chances. Maybe Malthouse will borrow Port Adelaide's Mark Williams' voodoo doll - as soon as he started publicly questioning the Cats earlier in the year they started going down with injuries and Port snatched a narrow win. I suspect Geelong would be looking to play them in the Grand Final to extract some major retribution.

Probably an opportune time to remind or point out to some overseas folk that the Preliminary final is effectively the last of the 'fans' games.

The Grand Final tickets are so heavily allocated that just being a member of one's club is not enough. People require premium memberships to have guarranteed access to a GF ticket.

However - prelim final matches still effectively 'belong' to the 2 competing teams, and so the atmosphere at a packed Geel v Coll this Friday will probably surpass that at the Grand Final the following week. And that's why probably no one would contemplate NOT going.

btw - I can't get away over to Adelaide to see my Roos due prior commitments (but, gee, at 0-3, and Thommo out, we were destined for early draft picks!)
