Description:	The Tiwi Islands Grand Final is an indigenous cultural event not to be missed. The 3,000 Tiwi people, inhabitants of Bathurst and Melville Islands are culturally and linguistically distinct from indigenous Australians and are all there to see this much anticipated event. A stunning 900 of them (pretty much anyone that can walk or run) play Australian footy during the monsoonal "wet season", and the island has produced many stars and household names for the national VFL/AFL and state leagues like the SANFL. The event also attracts up to 1,000 tourists. Ferries and chartered flights leave from Darwin for the big match.
