International Cup 2005

As the only new side at this year's International Cup, Los Toros de España are arousing a bit of interest - and things are looking good from the Bulls' camp. A match televised on national TV, a theme song recorded and played on radio (complete with 'Making Of' documentary on TV's Telemadrid), the Bulls are working overtime to get some attention at home.

The Bulls (or mainly the Madrid Bears) are starting to get some decent media coverage in Spain. Their recent match against North London, where the Bears held the mainly-Australian Lions well in the first half before the Londoners ran away with the game, being televised nation-wide on Estudio 2.

Their national team song, Toros de España, has been written by band 'the Homeless Bones', featuring the players singing the chorus. Regardless of the quality of footballers' voices, the first public appearance for the song was on Radio Ser - El Laguero last Friday, a program with an average Friday audience of over 2 million. A video clip is to follow, and a 'making of' documentary aired last week on local television station Telemadrid.

It's also planned for a journalist to make the trip with the Bulls, and the team are looking for plenty of media attention in Australia. With their guernseys designed and shortly to be released publicly, the Bulls are upbeat about their chances. Win, lose or draw, the Spanish lads are sure to bring some colour to the Cup come August.
