In an update to this story, the Huddersfield Rams from England have beaten last year's winners, the Glasgow Sharks, to take out the 2015 Haggis Cup played this weekend in Edinburgh.

Original Story:

The 2015 Haggis Cup is about to get underway in Scotland. Played at the CSE Peffermill Playing Fields in Edinburgh, this years competition will feature men's and women's divisions again.

Competing in the Men's draw are last year's winners, the Glasgow Sharks, host city team the Edinburgh Bloods and fellow Scottish teams the Kingdom Kangaroos and newcomers the Falkirk Razorbacks and Greater Glasgow Giants.

Two English teams are in town for the event also with the Huddersfield rams and the Tyne Tees Tigers competing.

In the Women's draw there will be three teams. The Scottish Select ladies are the great local hope but will be sternly challenged by the Tyne Tees Ladies and the Wimbledon Hawks Ladies, coming up from London.

Always a challenging event to coordinate, this year's Haggis Cup has come together with eight clubs from across Scotland and England competing as well as the combined Scottish women's team. This number of teams betters the 2014 roster, boding well for the future of the event.

World Footy News will monitor results and update the Haggis Cup 2015 story across the weekend.
