The brand new AFLNT season will kick off in just two weeks time on 5th October. After last year’s Premier League was won by St Mary’s over the Tiwi Bombers, it is now a case of slates wiped clean as all teams have the chance to seek their new season destinies. The following article from the AFLNT gives a run down on the new season, including highlights for season 2013/14.

The traditional Grand Final replay [betweeen St Mary's and Tiwi Bombers] will feature in Round 1 of the TIO NTFL Premier League after the draw was officially released by AFL Northern Territory today.

"Following consultation with all the NTFL clubs and key stakeholders we believe we have a well- balanced draw which caters for everyone’s needs," advised AFLNT Football Operations Manager Darryl Griffiths.

"Our primary focus with this draw was to incorporate as many of the club requests as possible which I think we have achieved quite well, whilst ensuring that all key stakeholders and venues are optimized."

The inclusion of the Central Australian Redtails eight game trial, is a key feature of this year’s fixture along with various other highlights including:

•Rd 1 Grand Final replay between St Marys and Tiwi Bombers

•Rd 1 CAFC Redtails to play home match at Traeger Park v Waratah

•Rd 5 Community Round where all matches played at Community venues

•Rd 6 beyondblue Round raising awareness for depression & anxiety

•Rd 7 Women’s Round

•Rd 14 Road Safety Round

•Rd 15 Heritage Round, traditional Australia Day clash at Gardens Oval

•Rd 17 Call to Arms Round

•Rd 18 Bombing of Darwin Round

•Tiwi Bombers to play four home games on Tiwi Oval, Nguiu, Bathurst Island.

Continuing their ongoing partnership of the NTFL, TIO will continue the push with the NTFL Clubs on education and promotion of key road safety elements which will feature in Round 14 during Road Safety Round and TIO NTFL Always Wear Your Seatbelts Finals Series.

The TIO NTFL Grand Final will be played on Saturday 15 March, 2014 at TIO Stadium at 6.30pm.
