Thanks to the great coverage on Twitter by Tobietta we can tell you that the European Islands team defeated the European Continent team 11.11 (77) to 2.3 (15) at The Oval in London. In the main game Port Adelaide stormed home to snatch victory 14.4 (88) to the Western Bulldogs 13.9 (87). More to come from Tobie...

As I thougt and told before: Who likes to pay a hell lot of travellingmoney to play in an totally unecpirienct team to be slaugthert? If such an event shall show the best europian players and only some of the skills of european aussifooty its necessary at least to plan 3 or 4 trainingsessions for the teams and help them with traveling.

Good point Benfried. But they said the same for the European Crusaders when we went to play the Irish Banshees and we gave them a good game. More importantly, the girls learnt a lot from much better players. I think the concept is the same for the AIS/AFL Academy vs European Legion games.

I think AFL Europe needs to do a deal with Ryan Air or something! We do enough travelling for European games, maybe three things a year are organised now. Take into account the numbers of players travelling and that should be enough to get some kind of sponsorship deal.
