Kevin Bartlett (pictured) and Patrick Smith become the Glasgow sharks number 1 and 2 season ticket holders and club patrons.

Richmond and AFL Legend Kevin Bartlett who played the second highest number of games in VFL/AFL history at 403 games scoring 778 goals in a glittering career that saw him win 5 premierships with Richmond from 1967 to 1980 works with Patrick Smith on SEN’s Hungry For Sport programme, Patrick is one of Australia’s leading sports journalists.

A long standing interest and promotion from the pair was thanked and rewarded recently by the Sharks when they sent over new training guernseys. Patrick and Kevin both frequently mention and wish good luck to the Glasgow Sharks as well as occasionally taking credit for their wins.

Glasgow Sharks president Stephen Connor thinks that this partnership is a significant endorsement, not only for the Sharks but for the international community of Aussie rules, from two massive figures with such an impact on the sport. “It’s fantastic to have 2 major figures in the AFL world take an interest in our club and the game abroad in general. They offer support and advice on where I’m going wrong whether I ask or not!! Seriously though, we wanted to say thanks to them both for their help in promoting the Club and guessed they wouldn’t have a Sharks training top among their memorabilia and awards. KB has even touted the idea he may come out of retirement for a run on our half forward line…… I can only hope he’s serious ”

The Sharks will meet Edinburgh in the 2012 SARFL Grand Final on 25th August in Aberdeen with both the SEN boys supporting and waiting for updates on twitter.
