This Saturday sees a big day of footy in Philadelphia.  EAFL rivals Florida, New York and the Baltimore/Washington Eagles will all be in town to take part.  And following on from their successful tour to Chicago last year, the Onatario Australian Football League will again send a team across the border to compete during a bye weekend in their own league.  There will also be a Reserves and a Women's match on the day.

The 2012 Philly Footy Festival as it is known will be played at the Hawk's home ground,  FDR Park.   The match schedule is as follows:

10:30 Ontario vs Philadelphia

11:30 Florida vs Baltimore/Washington

12:30 Reserves Match

1:30 Ontario vs New York

2:30 Womens Game

4:00 Florida vs Philadelphia

5:00 Baltimore/Washington vs New York

The Philadelphia Hawks go into the 2012 season without the 2011 co-captain, Paul Giacomin, who went back to Australia last month after playing in the US for four seasons.  Other player movements have see some players move on for family reasons but also the return of two players who had taken last year off due to family considerations.

From outside the club the Hawks have gained a couple of local American recruits through our current team members, at least one new Australian, from Sydney, and Americans from other teams inArizona and New York who have moved to the area.

On the board, President Pat Miller enters his fourth year as president with new VP, Shane Duncan, who is in his third year helping the club.  The club also has a new treasurer for 2012, Mark Camerotta.
