Representatives of the Hawthorn footy club have recently been in NZ again. Hawthorn players spent three days in New Zealand, holding clinics at schools and meeting AFLNZ representatives.

I think these clinic trips are very important to encourage the volunteers in NZ as it can be a very daunting task running junior footy in NZ. Obviously the kiwi kids enjoy it, but more importantly, the more AFL players that travel around the globe doing clinics the more they will pass on back to Australia, what's going on around the rest of the world with regards to footy. Because the media generally ignore the growth, so does the mainstream Australian public. Good work Hawthorn, keep it up!
