Certainly looks like the battle for third was a ripper - presumably the Irish tired in the end.

Hopefully tonights game can be a thriller too.

Congratulations China on a great win !!!

I shall be in China later this year to conduct goal kicking drills... 7.14 !!! what's that about.

Great effort guys. and congratulations also to India too who looked to have fought out a pretty competitive match.

Cheers

The Chinese looked they'd won a Grand Final after the game. The boys ran
straight over and threw Hoff into the air. The vibe around the Chinese team
was actually very positive for the whole match, you could see at the huddle
in the breaks that they believed in themselves and were very keen to come
away with a win.

For the Indians' part, they weren't by any means disgraced. They were on
top for a few sections of the match and it really could have gone either way.

Hopefully it can really go somewhere from here for both countries. The key
might be whether the guys from these squads keep playing and coaching
when they get back.

Ireland v Sth Africa was a classic finish! 5 points down. Sth Africa mark it with 5s left. He hangs on to it and the siren goes, but he is still 65m from goal.

I saw a few South African players slump to the ground as the siren went thinking they had lost it. The Irish started celebrating then realised they should at least make sure the kick can't go through.

The Sth African guy obviously didn't know the rules as he played on and ran around the guy on the mark.

More celebrating from the Irish.

Then confusion. The ump gave the ball back to the Sth African guy and pulled him forward 25m. He had given a 25m penalty for the Irish guy overstepping the mark.

He took his kick again from about 40m out and kicked a goal. Sth Africa by 1 point!

The South Africans went absolutely wild! Great to see! Commiserations to the Irish.
