Sponsorship is vital to all sporting clubs, from small community clubs to massive world icons. The Dublin Eagles in the Australian Rules Football League Ireland have secured a prominent international company. The following is courtesy of the Eagles' President, Phil Howarth.

The Dublin Eagles have continued their success in attracting sponsorship to the game of Aussie Rules in Ireland. Always strongly supported by sponsors since the clubs inception the club are delighted to announce Powerade as their new major and naming rights sponsor.

The name Powerade brings a more professional image to both our club and the league in which we compete. Money attracts money and big name sponsors should hopefully attract more big name sponsors. We'll unveil the new team kit for the first game of the premiership season and the club website will also start to show a stronger powerade image. We're very keen to get the message out that we've secured this arrangement in the hope that it will allow other clubs around the country to attract similar names.
