The Papua New Guinea AFL are one of the two big Aussie Rules organisations outside of Australia (the New Zealand AFL being the other). Although not large in full time staff, it is responsible for thousand of players and officials across the islands of PNG. It is tremendous to be able to announce the launch of their website.

Some countries have a professional looking website before they have more than one team developed. This can help with recruiting those first crucial numbers. But in PNG, the web presence has waited until now. Although the site has been quite advanced for some time, its official launch has been saved until today. A function is being held, with a media event for the Oil Search Pathway program, and featuring former Australian cricketers Merv Hughes and Rodney Hogg, and former Western Bulldogs AFL champion Doug Hawkins.
