Asia The amazing story of the 2004 Japanese national team, the Samurai, continues....

The Japan Samurai outclassed a bigger, stronger opponent - Asian AFL Powerhouse: the Singapore Wombats for their first ever win on the road, at Commonwealth Bank Stadium in Singapore last Thursday 12th of August.

The final score saw the Samurai 10-12-72 outclass Singapore 5-4-34.

Jun Oikawa (AKA Crazy Horse - remember this name for the 2005 International Cup) starred up forward with 3 majors with an even share of the goals coming from the other forwards. Coach Troy Beard praised his team's never say die effort when the game started getting physical early in the 3rd Quarter.

Japan have now arrived in Australia and look forward to further success. You can also follow their journey on the Tokyo Goannas website.
